busy busy

We had a really busy weekend around here it wasnt like we even had any time off the way it went. Friday night we went out for a couple of drinks, Michael wanted to spend the night at jamies and we did not argue.
Saturday morning I went to Deering lumber to get the wood for the side porch/stairs we had to build, they were very helpful, but when I got home one of the steps was broken on the end and it was 945 so I rushed back to exchange it. Then had to run and pick up Mike for tball at 1030. After tball our buddy mark and I built a 4x4 platform and stairs for the side door, Ray was at work. It took us allll day,in the sun we both got really sunburnt neither one of us had ever built anything before ever, and I have to say we did a damn good job. Ray got home for the very last board to be put in.
I made the boys dinner and crashed hard,
Sunday morning we got up and started painting the big deck and the new one. The damn park said it had to better match the house. I have to say it really looks good now that its done, all we have left is to put up the new lattace in the front kinda like a privacy screen from the street. to make the park happy we still have to put the siding up on our shed.
After we went up to the boat so the deck could dry. I completely rewired the entire boat, put in a fuse panel and everything it was a mess under the dash every wire was spliced and jumped to each other now its nice and neat. When I got all done the boat wouldnt start Ray was blaming me thinking I messed with the ignition but I didnt. Luckily one of the guys I work with lives not to far from my mom he came up and told us it was a starter cylinoid. So we changed that and put in the new steering cable. Now we have another problem if you turn the wheel right it goes left and turn left it goes right. mmmm not electrical not my fault again. We called the boat yard today and they have to order a piece to make it right it should be in tomorrow I hope. So anyways Monday ray is determined to take the boat out even if the steerng is messed up. But guess what it ran great last time and this time we couldnt get it to stay running at all I almost didnt think we would make it back to the launch it was actually kinda scary for a couple of minutes. not as scary as driving the damn trailer home though. Now keep this in mind the bearing are worn in my truck so when I started hearing this loud grinding noise I thought for sure that I had blown a bearing in the truck and pulled over quick, Nope it was the bearing in the trailer it had blown completely apart no more little balls in the hub. I got it backed into the driveway but there it sits now.
So guess what I'm doing for the next few days, Ray took the carburator out so we can have that rebuilt, the steering parts are on order, I have to get my truck fixed, we have to buy all new bearings in the trailer and install, plus mike has tball, we need to install the lattice on the deck, I need to send out my next secret pal gift, I need to bring mike up to visit papa of course that is when he is having a good day if there are any more left, all this plus we are both working can you say we really need more hours in the day.

Thank you for the kind words for my papa, he is still hanging on but its inevitable that the end is near and it hurts but there is nothing I can do about it except keep telling him that I love him till the end.

finally a couple of good days

Well I’ve had a better couple of days, papa isn’t any better he’s getting worse but he is still alive.
Saturday we worked around the house all day and Sunday I took Michael to see a Sea dogs game in Portland here he is getting a really hot players autograph I don’t remember his name but he was nice on the eyes.













Tuesday I went and got my first ever pedicure. I’ve never ever had one. It was kinda cool here is a picture of my pretty toes. I had her paint my fingers the same color. My nails are good but it was really nice to be pampered just for a few minutes. When a girl at work told me she was going to get her hands done last night I had her ask how much the toes were and it was pretty reasonable from what I’ve heard.


Last night ray called and made our camping reservations in solon, Maine at what looks like a cool campground on the Kennebec river its called Evergreens Campground, we splurged and rented a small cabin. We figured this either its gonna be hot as hell in the cabin, or its gonna rain and we’d be in a tent. At least with the cabin if it rains we will have a nice deck to sit on. This will be out big trip of the summer, I want to climb cadilac mountain just once and see the sun rise but that will be a quick trip.

This weekend we will be painting the deck and building the side stairs, after that all we have to do is save up for the siding then the park can kiss my ass.
We also have to finish fixing a couple of little things on the boat then we can just fish for a couple of days and enjoy it.

Thanks again for the good thoughts its been a rough couple of weeks, we will get through it but I tend to get down and it helps to have friends to vent to again thanks.

another bad day

Do you have close friends that live nearby--I don’t, I have friends but they live far away Did you ever really need a shoulder to cry on and not have one- I do. My darling hubby is not the shoulder crying on type he just isn’t he’ll pat you on the back for a minute than go find something else to do. This has just been an awful week. Between the rain and papa I really did needed the added stress that just got plopped in my lap.
My daughter is 15 she is a good kid, a great sister but she is lazy, she lives with her dad who has never pushed her well we got called into the school today for her attendance they waited till two weeks before the end of the year to tell us she will not get any credits for her sophomore year that she missed 75 out of 145 days of school. Her father never made her go if she said she didn’t have classes she stayed in bed, if she had a headache and ass-ache whatever he didn’t push her I blame him as much as her. And now they say she will have to main stream next year instead of special ed if she comes back cuz she hates her teacher and he is it in the special ed part of the school its him or nothing. So we all meet today she has the rest of the year off and they suggested adult ed or alternative ed which is mon-thur 9-3 I bet that to many hours for her she only had to go this year from 8-1030 and she wouldn’t do that. I’ll call about that later but this morning I called the adult ed department guess what she cant go to adult ed in the diploma program until she is 17 she will be 16 in June. I am not letting her take another year off she will never go back if she does that. Now I’m calling around and seeing what my options are but lets just say this sucks you want so much for your kids, picture them going to prom and homecoming etc I asked her do you really want to miss all that, and got I don’t give a shit about that stuff, I told her when she is my age she will regret not going, her response, so what. Its enough to pull your hair out.
Yesterday wasn’t any better we got a letter from the manager of the moble home park where we live with a list of violations we have at out house. We have 7 days to pick up all the toys in the yard, put the shovels and rakes in a shed, build new stairs on one side of the house and put railing on the other side, paint the deck a color that better goes with the house and get this we have 20 days to side our 12x12 shed with vinel siding, can you believe this shit where the hell are we going to come up with the money for all of this. We have a boat for sale in our yard that they said has to be moved or get rid of and we need to fix the grass that was damaged wait a fucken minute we planted that grass there wasn’t any there when we moved in. oh and we have to pressure wash the green off the skirting by next weekend too.
So the plan is pressure wash the deck to prep for painting and wash the house, build new stairs and clean this weekend, that is going around the fishing derby, t-ball and a ball game we have tickets for already on Sunday. Then next sunny day rent a paint sprayer for the deck I’m not painting it by hand, I just called the park and she extended the siding deadline until july 1st but still that is a lot of money. Ray is ugly he wants to sell but we cant really afford to go anywhere else for the kind of money we are paying so we have to put up with there shit.
My stress level is thru the roof everytime I talk to someone I start to cry but try hard not to. I do think that is what I really need though a good 10 minute sob fest and call it good but I cant do it. I just don’t have time.
Sorry for the long vent but this is the only place I can do this to get just a little relief.
I better get back to work so I don’t get into trouble I’m typing this in word so all I have to do is cut and paste it into blogger.

hello again, thank you to the all that responded I'm just having a bad week and needed a little lovin, I had a great surprise today my secret pal already sent me a package and it couldnt have come on a better day. thank you secret pal I really needed this now what to make its soooo soft I just want to play with it. this is alpaca and silk and some new needles hey did you see my needles I needed this size good pick. thank you again.

just courious does anybody besides my secret pal read this blog. Can you please delurk and say hi sometimes I feel like I'm doing this all for nothing other than secret pal which I really dont mind normally just not today. I keep checking my email over and over just waiting for an acknowledgement that I'm not doing this for nothing.
They started my papa on a morphine drip today,which means the end is nearer than further, Ray is working a double and Michael is sleeping and suddenly I feel really alone I dont like this feeling.

Wet wet wet

Man do I wish it would stop raining. I had a mostly wonderful mothers day and hope you did too. We did go to the fiber festival in New Hampshire today in the rain. It took us a little longer to get there than it should because a lot of roads were flooded one to the point of being gone like tar and all washed away. We were glad we had brought Michaels muck boots when we got there the mud was deep in some places, believe it or not I only bought a little surprise for my secret pal, I have a lot in my own roving stash right now and couldn't justify spending money there when I can go to my local shop and get alot of the same stuff. We had a little lunch there and ventured home taking the highway instead of the back roads. We made a stop at Kittery Trading Post which was my thank you to hubby for going to NH with me. Kittery is a hunting fishing store his favorite. Then on the way home guess what the south bound lane of the Maine turnpike was covered in water and we thought the highway would be better glad we were going north.
When we got home my daughter called and said she was stopping over she brought me three little ceramic figures to put in my yard. Know the best part this is the first time in 4 years that she has remembered mothers day. I cried the first 2 and was pissy for the second but she made my day just remembering. Oh hubby did good too he got me a set of ashford hand carders he actually went to the fiber store himself and told Melodie who he was she knew exactly what I wanted he told her "I think Ive been set up I didn't know what to get her and was hoping you had an idea and here she told you what she wanted" LOL yup I did and it worked I got exactly what I wanted he is such a great guy.
Anyways back to my Daughter she was going up to the VA to see papa, she said he was better yesterday and wanted to take Michael we were like ok no prob we need a break and he loves Papa. Twenty minutes later she calls and says mommy papa is having a bad day he fell again and meme is all upset and now Michael is upset. The nurse had called papas oldest daughter (no relation to me) and they were going to stay with meme until someone else got there so she wasn't alone. Papa was real dizzy and had a headache they think he had another mini stroke. I sat home for a couple of minutes and told Ray to bring me up to be there and worse case bring Mike home and I could drive meme home if I had to. So we went up, Michael wanted to ride home with his sister and I stayed with meme. I went in and sat with papa for awhile he kept saying your my special girl and I love you, then he said I'm going up there and pointed up. I told him not yet I'm not ready and he said that I'm his special gir, & I will always love you. I was crying and he gave me a hug and said I love you sweetheart. I really tried to hold it together that bitch of a daughter had the nerve to tell me in the hall I should really try not to cry in front of him it upsets him. You bitch don't you think I tried I so wanted to slap her but I kept my mouth shut for now. I told papa I would be in to have my lunch with him tomorrow and he clapped his hands. I don't know how he will be though they gave him a shot of morphine while I was there and are installing a morphine pump tomorrow so we know it wont be long now. God please watch over my papa, I'll miss him more than words can say but I know its better to go than suffer in a body that doesn't want to work anymore.

Ok I need sleep if I'm not around the next few days you know why between visiting papa and trying to keep Michaels life as normal as possible I'm going to be really busy.

just a quick update

Rain Rain go away this rain is really starting to get sickening I dont mind rain but enough is enough geesh. The fishing derby got postponed untill next week so we went to tball which was in the school gym so at least Michael got to get rid of some pent up energy from a week of rain.
Tonight we are going to run over my moms and bring her a stack of face cloths I knitted for her its not much but its something.
Tomorrow I asked Ray if we could go to the new hapshire wool festival even if its raining we would be going in and out of buildings and we have umbrellas hes like whatever. sounds real excited doesnt he but I want to go and its mothers day damnit I'm going with or without him.

funny story

I have a funny story for you last Friday I was at the nursing home having lunch with meme and papa and my cell phone rings. Its Michaels school nurse she starts with Michael is ok I just wanted to call you and tell you what happened before he comes home and tells you and you don’t understand. Apparently Michael came in from recess to go to the bathroom each classroom has it own bathroom well he comes out and this is what the teacher said happened
“I wish you could have seen his face when he came out of the bathroom and screamed" I have a tick, I have a tick on me!" It reminded me of the movie Stand By Me when the boys go swimming in the swamp and they come out with leaches on them and the one boy looks in his underwear and screams...I know it isn't funny but I wish I had a video camera.”

When he got to the nurse he told her between tears that "I have a tick, I have a tick on my penis". Oh my god I couldn’t stop laughing as she was telling me this. She said it wasn’t actually on his penis but close enough and it hadn’t stuck in but they are sticky and he couldn’t get it off by himself. He did tell her it’s a wood tick not a deer tick I’m surprised he remembered the difference, ray showed him last summer and the nurse confirmed it was a wood tick.
So he is all better except for yesterday he didn’t want to go to school I think he was afraid he would get another tick playing outside. We had a really mild winter and when they said the ticks would be bad they weren’t kidding.

Saturday we spent the entire day working in the yard and on the house, Michaels bunk bed is completely done even with a new mattress, we got loam put all around the walkway we put in last summer and just never finished, we tore the hitch cover off the house and put skirting all across the front. We gained a lot of room doing that I now want to put a bench out there so I can watch Michael when he is playing in the driveway. I was a bad mommy Saturday I read Michaels t ball schedule wrong and we showed up at the wrong time and missed his game he was mad but we played with him in the field for an hour to make up for it. This Saturday there is a fishing derby for kids the same time as t ball I hope he picks playing ball not fishing I’d feel like shit he missed two games in a row. Its going to rain anyways so maybe they will postpone the derby for a week if he missed ever other it wouldn’t be as bad as two in a row. Especially since it was my fault.
Sunday we finished seeding the loam and then took the boat out for the rest of the day. I made a stew Sunday night that we had last night and will have tonight for supper so I don’t have to rush home and cook.
Yesterday Michael got two more striped in tae kwon do next step is his green belt.
I’m going for lunch again today with meme and papa she said he was a little better yesterday but he is failing fast she thinks he will last longer than two weeks because he is able to get a little bit of thick fluids into him just enough I guess to keep him alive a little longer than we thought.
Tonight ray and I are bring the boat to a repair guy in scarborough the motor is fine but its really hard to steer to the left, right is ok and there is a new cable on it but for some reason it just doesn’t want to turn left. Better to get it checked out now than having an emergency and not being able to move fast enough.

Secret pal 8 is starting I cant wait to find out who my pal is going to be. The last couple of sp’s haven’t been to good the first one my spoiler wasn’t to good and the last time the person I spoiled had something happen in her life and says she never got anything I sent after the first box. I’m courious who is using the night light I sent her. Whatever I’m holding out that this will be the best secret pal yet.

sorry I lied about posting again the other night but I have been so busy then I'm tired and once I sit in my recliner thats it I'm done I know I want to blog and say "I'll do it in the morning" then I oversleep.
We took the boat out last saturday and sunday, saturday it kept stalling the guy we bought it from had alot of old fuel in it so we changed the fuel filter sunday before we went out. we didnt catch any fish but we had a great time the weather was great. Michael started tball saturday morning he is doing good already and all the kids on his team are really nice.
Monday my mom emails me and says Roland is done Michaels bunk bed and he want to come over and set it up. So she took mike to tae kwon do and I helped Roldand, Ray had a meeting at the club. well by 8pm I'm dropping shit I'm so tired so I tell him Roland we really need to finish this another night. So its half put up and Michael is sleeping in his sisters room untill we get it all up and polly it. I think that will be Saturday mornings project before tball.
Yesterday I went for my second remicade treatment, the nurse said after the second or third one I should notice a difference. They at least sat me in the chair near the little tv yesterday so it made the time go by a little faster. Sitting there for 4 hours is still no fun. They gave me benidril before the remicade just in case I have a reaction that stuff makes me so drowsy. Ray took Mike to tball last night they had to have it indoors because its been raining for 2 days, we needed the rain and the sun came back today so it wasnt that bad.
I skipped spinning this week my papa had another stroke and I had to stop by and see how bad he was. He was having a hard time swallowing and speaking and nobody wants to give him a feeding tube so I hope he can swallow soon so we dont lose him.
Even though I skipped spinning, I did knit the entire time I was at the hospital. I worked on my red sweater for awhile then went back to the dishcloths when I got fustrated with the sweater pattern.I really want to get this sweater done but find I take out more rows somedays than I put in.

You know reading this I'm a really boring person busy but boring anyone else ever feel like that.
ok back to work I'm slacking I dont feel like being here with the sun out,I'll save my sick days for this summer when I can take Michael to the beach. See ya.

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
I only have one do not like and that is lion brand home spun I learned on it and now hate how it splits.
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
my last pal make me a beautiful needle case.
3. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I have been knitting for almost 2 years, and I think I’m about an intermediate.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
yes its in my sidebar (hope it works)
5. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
I like anything NOT avon for some reason they make me sneezy must be cuz my grandmother wore so much of it.

who doesn’t, I love taffy and fudge.

I make candles out of mason jars for craft fairs and I bought a spinning wheel last year.

I mostly listen to 80’s hair bands, but will listen to anything I can understand the words too and have recently started listening to piano music.

I like autumn colors best for my house, and blue and pink are my favorites to wear.no purple please I just cant do purple

I have been married to Ray for almost 6 years, and have two kids a 15 year old daughter, and a 5 year old son. She will be 16 in June and he will be 6 in September.we have some fish and a guinea pig.

12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
when I go to appointments I usually bring a dishcloth cuz its small to carry and I don’t have to think about what I’m making.

I am currently working on a sweater for me this time and its taking forever its real lacey I think I was nuts when I decided to try this one.
14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
Who doesn’t.
15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I’m slowly switching to bamboo instead of aluminum, and slowly trying circular I just haven’t gotten the hang of it yet.

I bought a yarn winder last month to use for my spinning.
17. How did you learn to knit?
a wonderful lady I used to work with taught me to knit on our lunch breaks.
18. How old is your oldest UFO?
I started one sock about a year ago and never got the hang of getting the corners tight so I gave up on it.
19. What is your favorite holiday?
I like the 4th of July we all go on a family camping trip it’s a nice weekend that I always look forward to not stressful like the big holidays.

I collect moose and black bear things we are an outdoorsy family

I get spin out and knit it magazines, I really want knitting rules by the yarn harlot and knitting around by Elizabeth Zimmerman, oh and Big Girl knits by Martin Story.
22. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn?
I saw a woman in boston knitting two socks on one circular needle and have never been able to find a pattern to do that and I have looked and searched all over.
23. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?
no I started one once and it was coming out like crap so I quit I would love to have some of those cool homemade socks I see on everyones blogs if I ever found the pattern from the ? above I might be tempted to try again. My shoe size is a womans 8-8.5 I’ve never actually measured my foot.
