Week in review and its only Tuesday.

I have been a busy beaver since last Friday let me tell you that.

Ray was going to go ice fishing Saturday but when he went to brush his teeth and there was no water. Michael was actually happy about it the little shit, he was being punished for not behaving at school last week and wasnt going to be allowed to go and now daddy wasnt going so Michael didnt feel so bad even though I did drag him around with me all day running errands. We borrowed a heater from a guy at work and got the pipes unfrozen around 9. Then Mike and I ran around visiting and getting shit stuff done.
Sunday Ray did go ice fishing and took Michael so I had the day off and man did I need it after having him all day saturday. they got home around 1, I made 4 pans of apple, chocolate chip cakes to bring to cubscouts we went to the fire/pd for a visit the pd had eaten almost the entire pan before we even left.

Yesterday was great I only had to work 4 hours then drove to NH to pick up Kat. I found the place 5 minutes before the plane landed it was soooo good to see my best friend again its been way to long. Last time I saw her she had just had surgery and was in ICU this time she was my kat full of piss and vinigar as usual we have so much funny people watching and let me tell you there were some guys at the airport well worth watching. I hope the cold weather doesnt bother her to bad that would suck. The boys have grown soo much I cant wait to see them Saturday we are going snow tubing.

and to make the day end well I stopped and got the mail and had a package from my secret pal now see she made my experience great the package had everything I could want. hand cream and spray which I use alot on my psoriasis, and some great yarn and patterns I'll tell you more tonight when I can get home and take some pictures this stuff is sooo pretty its hard to describe without photos. and listen to this my pal is from Maine how lucky am I. she is Julie from jujuknits
and she has been a great pal I'm hoping she is going to spa next month so I can meet her.
Thanks Julie for making sp9 fun.

unfortunatly today is starting off kind sucky. I woke up feeling crappy but I never call in to work so that wasnt an option. its weird yesterday one of my fingernails almost broke completlely off I discovered I have psoriasis under my nail that sucks by itselft and today my joints HURT I hope I dont end up with psoriatic arthritis (sp) thats all I need but this is making me wonder. I'm hoping its just the cold outside I put my new fingerless mittens on and an extra jacket. My fingers, shoulders, neck and one knee are killing me.

I better get back to work have a great day I'll take pictures of my sp package tonight and probably just tack them onto this post and I'll be sure to get lots of photos of the boys snowtubing on Saturday.
Later.

edited wednesday morning:

I added a picture of the great stuff my secret Pal JUJU sent. it has a felt lined mitten kit that is really cool I had never seen it done that way before and think its something even I can do and a sock kit with simple easy to read instructions. and she got the smell just right with spray and lotion from body shop. I tell you what I have never in my life used as much cream as I have been lately trying to keep my psoriasis moist when it drys out it hurts.

Again thank you Secret Pal and hey let me know where exactly in Windham that new yarn shop is we are going that way Saturday and I want to stop there after snowtubing.

Sooo KARI from DOGWOOD DREAMS tagged me.

THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the 6 weird things about you. People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says you are tagged in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

1. I tend to talk really loud and fast when I’m excited, if I have a point to make I will interrupt or do whatever I have to, to get heard.

2. I am a true tom-boy, I wear hats whenever I can, I drove big trucks for 7 years, have always worked construction of some type, I collected match box cars as a kid, I hunt and fish, shoot a bow. And my husband loves all these things about me.

3. I have tons of nice yarn that I am afraid to work with. Why? Cuz I don’t think I am good enough to work with such nice yarn. Kari I stole this one from you I have been sitting on some really expensive yarn for awhile because I’m scared I’ll mess it up.

4. I still tend to add numbers on my fingers when I can

5 I have to have a blanket or sheet over my shoulders when I’m sleeping, my legs, butt, arms everything can be uncovered but if I’m sleeping on my stomach I have to feel something over my shoulders. See I’m weird.

6. I HATE tunnels I go through them when I have to but I have a theory I would rather squish someone falling off a bridge than have a big building land on me. Kat remember the trip down south all them damn tunnels I held my breath through. Now mind you I’m not claustrophobic mri machines and that stuff don’t bother me at all I just don’t want to be squished by a big building.

I tried to tag some folks who hadn’t already been tagged but if I tagged you and you had been I apologize.Sooo I TAG:

KAT
BELLE
ISABEL

I have to get back to work so 3 more friends please fill this out ok and let me know. the boss is walking around.

Remicade Rip off.
do you want to know why insurance cost sooo much now in this country I found out why by doing some research. I told my doc how much hospital A was charging so he asked my for an itemized price sheet from them.
they sent it before the insurance discount $12,078.60 with the discount it was about $10,800 the doc called me friday afternoon he called hospital B their price same dosage and everything is about $7000. before discount
I made a few calls myself today to different places the cost at hospital C's iv center right next to my work is aprox $4500. before the insurance discount.

I called A and asked why are they soo much they couldnt give me an answer. I then called my insurance and told them I would be going to got to C from now on to make sure I didnt need to do anything to switch and told them the cost difference for the same med at 3 different places within 20 miles of each other incredible isnt it. They said they are going to look into I doubt they will but I told them.

I started this because I was worried I would run out of insurance in 10 years at that rate every 8 weeks with a 1 mill lifetime max. I'm still amazed. So anyways my doc is going to change my appointment to go over to C and cancell A

on a lighter note Kat is coming I'm so excited I'm picking her up in NH next Monday I' going to take her boys snow tubing where we had went last week I think they will like it if they dont freeze I'm trying to borrow some boots for them so they dont get to cold. I miss them so much her boys are the most polite kids we have been best friends over 3/4 of our lives it sucks she lives so far away now but when we do get to see each other it means so much more now. She is the one true friend I have left and I cant wait to see her cant you tell.

We didnt do anything special at our house this weekend hung out on Saturday, went to church and watched football on Sunday. we missed some of the pats game to watch Rome but it didnt look like we missed much we caught the last 10 minutes just to see them lose. oh well maybe next year.

ok back to work

the shrinking mittens

I am a slow knitter and was proud of myself to have knitted a pair of mittens for my 6 year old in a week. Last Saturday we went to seacoast snowtubing park and he keeps taking his new mittens off. I tell him put them back on, he gives me the look, all you moms know the look and he'd put them back on.
We get back to the truck and I look at the mittens and tell him I'm sorry honey I didnt think they would do that, I made them with wool and thought they would be warm but now they might fit a 2 year old. all day while we were playing his new mittens were shrinking and shrinking no wonder he kept telling me they felt funny. He is such a good boy I said "Mike why didnt you tell me they were getting smaller" and him being the cutey he is said " I didnt want to make you sad, but dont worry I can give them to my friend his mom is having a baby" isnt he the best kid I swear sometimes he's an angel and other times mmmm you know that he came from the place down below. the day wasnt a total loss we did have alot of fun and I learned to make a little boys mittens out of something other than wool unless you WANT him to felt them for you.

below is a picture of my boys and the incredible shrinking mittens. the orange mitten is the size the grey one started out as, and no the orange one is NOT wool. I hope we get more real snow soon this was all man made we had a couple of inches the other day. the park only had 3 lanes open but usually has 5 I cant wait to go back before the end of the season.

I was emailed that if I didnt remove the post about what happened in sp I would be banned and that shipping doesnt count toward the $60.
So to clarify what I bought without shipping or the free stuff which was pointed out was free and I guess you cant send free stuff.
candles red one at fair $1.50
colored ones $5.00
hand cream $4.00
home made lamp $15.00 to $20 depending on where the craft fair is being held anyone want a break down on what I spend on materials. and the 2+ hours it takes me to make them let me know.
bear $12.00
syrup $5.00
spindle $5.00
book $13.00 or so it came out to 26 at the store for 3 things. plus tax
fiber $8.00

I get over 60 not including all the free yard I sent. I think I have forfulled my obligation. as far as taking my post down if the person cant thank me on their blog for something I spent my money on which is also part of the agreement than I cant take this down. I dont think my husband will let me do another one anyway, he said I cant do it if its going to make me cry. I have been an angel is sp's in the past I have helped in every way possible and never asked for anything matter of fact I didnt even reveil it was me I dont want or expect much in this just a thank you. I just thought the whole thing was fun. I might like to do another one someday. The hostesses have been absulutly wonderful I appreciate all there hard work. I volunteer at a bunch of other things or I would have for this I just dont have the time to commit to it like these wonderful woman do.

thank you Friends and have a nice day.

here is a picture of the lamps I make I have all kinds of different shades for different seasons it depends on the fair. They are filled with potpurii and have an on/off switch on the cord. we use ours as night lights all over the house the jars dont heat up as the light is above the jar and yes they are all hand painted.

What is it about Thursdays, I uploaded a picture yesterday and ran out of time to actually write a post to go with it.And today I have time to a post. I hate to say this is mostly going to be a venting post. I hate mean people all over the net I have been reading my friends blogs and getting emails myself personally from people that are just plane asses.
To start with please go give my friend Scotty your support. He and his partner are being bashed in the worst way. I so wish I could go and do something for them the way they are being treated is just so not right.
then I hear about kids being bullied about where they live. So what if your house once had wheels its better than an apartment and what you live in doesn't matter as much as the love and nurturing you have in the home.
Then to top things off I have decided this will be my last Secret Pal. the person that has been spoiling me has been absolutely great. She has stayed in contact and sent great stuff.
the person I was spoiling on the other had has been very petty in my opinion. I sent her 3 packages, the first one had a homemade lamp that I made and sell at fairs, candles I bought at a fair, and some novelty yarn and some yarn I got (gasp) free a the Boston knit out. I new she said she really wasn't into novelty yarn but it was pretty and she said she had been making stuff for some relatives kids and maybe she would like it. The second box was a bear and maple syrup from a Maine Store, the third box I thought would be the best I was really excited about it when I mailed it. she said she had never spun so I sent some rovings, a spindle and a book on learning to spin. Now I find it fun to learn new things apparently she didn't. I get an email from her saying I obviously didn't get to know her because I kept sending her stuff that she didn't use or want. She stated that she knew I got the yarn free in Boston because she looked the yarn up. Yeah it was free and new on the market that's why I sent it to her I would have gladly kept it if I had known she wouldn't like it. Then she said she told me she didn't spin why did I send her spinning stuff. Apparently she isn't someone that likes new things. This girl really hurt me if you read how the email was written you would know how brass she really was. You are required to spend 60 over the entire sp. I added it up I had spent well over that with shipping, I sent e-cards every week, kept her updated on the package that was stuck in the snow storm, I thought I had done really good and she slammed me. She personally burnt me out of SP and its too bad because I had really enjoyed it.

Now please keep in mind like I said my pal on the other end has been great, SP7 was ok and so was SP8 but this just left a real sour taste in me. My mother always told me if you cant say anything nice don't say it at all, I don't think she was taught that. I will not reveal her name or blog because that wouldn't be me but I will say if she does ever read this I am sorry I couldn't meet your expectations. I'm not sending a reveal to her telling her who I am whats the point I didn't send anything she liked anyways. I always thought that was the best part.I was also going to send one more package with some real wool yard to make it up to her and Ray said no absolutely not, after that email I don't want you to sent her anything at all.
I actually met the person I spoiled in sp7 last year at spa and she was really cool.
ok I'm done ranting that felt good it has been eating at me all week. now on to the good stuff.

I have been knitting my fingers off. I told you I finished that baby blanket then I brought it to my moms for her to store until the shower, When she opens it I will take a picture I want to hurry up and make a sweater and hat to go with it.
Then I knit Michael 2 pairs of mittens
Now I'm making a prayer blanket for the church, I want to be able to give someone the same peace that they gave to Kats Mom.
Then I'm going to start my expensive sweater.

Below is a picture I took of Michael with his new vest from cub scouts. One of the grandmothers made the vest for all the boys and my mom put his patches on it.
This Saturday we are going with the scouts to a snow tubing place in Windham. Luckily they make there own snow so we wont have to worry about that. It has finally started getting cold around here last Saturday it was almost 70. Kat can you believe we were in shorts in January.

I better get back to work. I leave you with Michael.

phew I'm caught up with all my stuff. We just did end of year at work what a pain in the but that is. Now I finally have 5 minutes to catch everyone up on me and my family.

Christmas::: Was great for the first time that I can remember oh since I was 15 or so I actually had my mom over for Christmas morning, her and my stepdad always went to his kids house and they are kinda pissy at each other right now so we got the benefit of that. My dad and Katie also came over and my grandmother, We had a housefull for about 4 hours and I loved it. I made 3lbs of bacon, eggs and toast for everyone. There was no fighting and we all got great gifts. I had bought my meme a parrakeet since she is alone now I thought it would be something for her to talk to. Now she tells me its dumb just sits in its food all day and doesnt sing very well, I cant win but she likes it anyways. I got my mom a very, very small pair of diamond earings and she cried, she has always wanted diamonds even though you need a microscope to see them she liked them anyways thats my mom for you. after everyone left we sat around watched movies and played with Michaels new toys the rest of the day.

Last Thursday Rays mom came over for the night to see Michael and brought him his gifts, I had to run to ll beans for a minute so I didnt have to spend much time with her. Michael enjoys seeing her.
Saturday we drove to Mass to see Rays grandmother, she is having a harder time without her husband than my meme is. They would have been married 60 years this april that amazing. We stopped at his dads and then drove home. Its always a long but enjoyable day.

For new years my dad, Katie, Mark and Tim came over we all drank and played cards nothing special but my cheeks did hurt from laughing soooo much.

That is really all my news I finished my fingerless gloves with the yard one of my secret pals gave me when I get a minute at home I'll take a picture new years day I made a pair of mittens for Michael he keeps losing them and outside the other day it was damp so we kept throwing the pairs he had in the dryer when they were done he would swap again, My pal got her package accourding to UPS late because of all the snow they have but she got is. I hope she liked it she hasnt posted about it yet.
My pal contacted me I am looking for a box from her, the others were great and I'm sure this one will be to.
Ok time to go home
Later
